Apple's iTunes App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch is now open. The apps require 2.0 software which ships with the iPhone 3G but can be freely downloaded by original iPhone users. iPod Touch users will have to pay $9.99.
There are eighteen categories ranging from Business to Weather. There are at least 147 free applications. It is virgin territory now - with no comments, and the "New" group looking strange since they are all new.
One terrific application is Apple Remote which allows iPhone and iPod Touch users to play, pause, skip, and shuffle via the device. You can also see your songs, album art, and playlists on the iPhone or iPod Touch. AirTunes speakers can be selected also!
